Today, December 3, Ukraine and the world celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This day is designed to raise issues of equality, justice and is a reminder of the importance of supporting people with special needs, their social integration, rights and needs that must be provided in every state, every community.

Today, there are about 1 billion people with disabilities in the world. Therefore, this day is also a reminder of the challenges that this group of people faces on a daily basis and the importance of everyone's indifference in helping to improve their standard of living and development. In a pandemic, these issues need to be raised even more sharply, as people with special needs are the group most affected by the virus.

The theme of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in 2020 "Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World".

We, Charitable Fund "Vesna!", also focus our activities on supporting people with special needs. But we believe that by working together, we must help people with special needs to effectively integrate into society, economic and cultural development, ensure equal rights and proper living conditions.

The desire to realize the rights of persons with disabilities is not just a matter of justice; it is an investment in a common future" - Official UN website.

It will be recalled that the annual celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed in 1992 by UN General Assembly Resolution 47/3. It aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, as well as to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic and cultural life.
